Basic Digital Literacy and Employability

All students are required to complete the Basic Digital Literacy and Employability program to prepare for and succeed in an evolving job market. Students will also learn about CALV’s rules and regulations to succeed in their time as an enrolled student. Eligible Culinary Workers Union Local 226 and Bartenders Union Local 165 members qualify for free training as part of their union benefits package.

 

Basic Digital Literacy and Employability

This program provides basic computer terminology, appropriate use of technology, and beginning computer skills. Students are introduced to CALV’s online learning platform and will learn how to use email, write resumes, and discover job opportunities online. Upon program completion, students will know how to prepare for and succeed in job interviews.

Length: 19 hours

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 11:00am; or
                   Monday – Friday, 1:00pm to 4:00pm; or
                   Saturdays, 8:00am to 1:00pm; or
                   Sundays, 8:00am to 1:00pm

Program Requirements: Minimum age 18-years-old; valid driver’s license/state ID, Social Security card; must be able to communicate effectively in English or complete Vocational English 1 or 2 class, as recommended
